Harmony
Harmony can provide extra peace of mind during pregnancy by giving a risk assessment for selected chromosomal abnormalities.
The Harmony test investigates the risk of some of the most common chromosomal abnormalities. The test is similar to the NIPT offered in the public healthcare system. You can receive telephone counseling before the scan so that you can choose the type of NIPT that best suits you.

The Harmony test calculates the risk for selected chromosomal abnormalities (syndromes) like the nuchal translucency scan, but it is more accurate. It detects 99.9% of fetuses with Down syndrome, compared to approximately 90% with the nuchal translucency scan.

The fetus is thoroughly scanned to check for any developmental abnormalities that can be detected through ultrasound. What can be seen varies depending on the week of pregnancy.

The test screens for trisomies such as Down syndrome (T21), Edwards syndrome (T18), and Patau syndrome (T13). It can also detect sex chromosome abnormalities such as Turner syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome, Triple X, and XYY.
Additionally, the DiGeorge microdeletion (22q11) can be included at no extra cost. The same applies to sex determination if you wish to know the baby’s gender.
You will receive black-and-white images as well as images and video clips sent to your phone via a QR code. A report from the day’s scan with the fetus’s measurements is also provided.
The basic Harmony and Panorama tests are comparable. However, with the Harmony test, you do not receive a result with a risk calculation—that is, no risk figure is provided. You are simply informed whether the risk is low or high. Harmony is suitable for those who just want to know if the risk is low or high. Our skilled staff are available by phone to guide you in choosing the test that best meets your needs.
As with the Panorama test, the result depends on obtaining enough fetal DNA. If you are overweight, this can be a challenge. With our other NIPT, the EVITA test, your weight does not affect the result.
You or the prospective father carry a chromosomal abnormality. The nuchal translucency scan has shown a nuchal translucency measurement greater than 3.5 mm. The risk of Down syndrome based on the nuchal translucency scan and the Double Test is higher than 1:10. You are pregnant with a vanishing twin.
We recommend taking a Panorama test if you are pregnant with twins. This test can provide much more information than Harmony when there are two fetuses.
Unfortunately, we do not send Harmony test kits. If you live abroad, you can order a Panorama test instead.
If you do not receive a result for any of the conditions, you only pay for the consultation and scan. The cost of the test will be refunded to your account, minus 1,000 DKK. If you do not receive a result from the first blood sample, you will be offered a new one free of charge. After the second blood sample, approximately 70% of cases will yield a result. If you receive a result for some conditions but not all, you pay for the entire test. Some test results may be so-called false negatives, meaning the test indicates a healthy baby when that is not the case. The false negative rate for the Harmony test is only 0.1%.
