A 3D scan provides a unique view of your little one in the womb. Feel free to bring family and share the experience.
A 3D scan requires enough amniotic fluid in front of the baby’s face. We therefore recommend having the 3D scan performed between weeks 26 and 32, when we can get the best images!
Facts and FAQ
We can perform 3D scans throughout the pregnancy, but the best images are obtained between weeks 26 and 32. After week 33, the amount of amniotic fluid decreases, making it less likely to get good 3D/4D images.

The scan is performed on the abdomen. A 3D scan is an advanced ultrasound scan that shows the fetus in three dimensions, providing a more realistic and detailed image of the baby’s face and body. Our staff are highly experienced with this type of scan, and it is often possible to take home excellent images. The baby’s size is measured, and blood flow in the umbilical cord is also assessed.

A report with the baby’s measurements and weight at the time of the scan. Images and video clips sent to your phone via a QR code. A nice folder for the images and report. Option to receive the entire scan on a USB—bring your own or purchase one at the clinic for 100 DKK.
Yes! It is often a good idea to choose the extended scan so that we have enough time. It is also best to come for the scan a little earlier, from week 24. Please call our receptionist for guidance on the best time during your pregnancy.
It can be more difficult to get good images if the baby’s face is pressed against the placenta. Our sonographers and doctors are very experienced and often have techniques to still obtain excellent images. You can always call our receptionist for guidance on the best time for the scan.
If we cannot get good images of the baby at all, a rescan can be arranged. It is solely up to the sonographer’s or doctor’s assessment whether this is necessary. For the extended scan, this is included in the price. For the standard scan, it can be added for 500 DKK.
